Power Partners is an EFI inboard engine development system for boat builders, offered exclusively by Indmar. Power Partners helps OEM's make maximum use of the many benefits available from today's leading-edge inboard power technology. Advanced electronics on Indmar EFI engine models make it possible to “dial in” an engine's ability to produce more torque or horsepower, better hole shots, higher top-end speed, increased fuel economy, and just about any variation in between.

Indmar's Power Partners program develops custom calibrated EFI inboard engines that are designed to meet performance and application needs specific to the individual OEM's product.

“The Power Partners program is a turn-key system approach”, said Chuck Rowe, Indmar President. “It covers initial engine development, prototype installation and extensive field testing. We carry it through to include complete EFI technical training for the builder's factory installation team, as well as their field service technicians.”

Power Partners program is offered without cost to OEM customers. It is a seven-point program that includes:

Initial Development - Working closely with the builder, we show them how our new EFI technology can best benefit their product line. Carefully considering the boat's intended application, Indmar defines specific power enhancement needs for the OEM.

Baseline Calibrations - With application and design needs defined, Indmar determines the proper torque curve and power band to meet those needs. Cam profile is selected, a hardware configuration is chosen and the prototype engine is then built. Then preliminary calibrations of air, fuel and spark are calculated for the engine's computerized management system.

Factory and Field Testing - First we dyno test the prototype under varying loads to ensure it meets the targeted performance parameters. Then it is installed in a hull and field tested under various conditions, based on the boat's applications intended by the builder; tournament skiing, recreational skiing, general boating, long-range cruising, offshore angling, etc.

Prototype Testing - During this important stage Indmar works closely with the builder to make the best possible match between the Indmar EFI engine and the OEM's boat design. Using a customer-supplied boat, Indmar's Power Partners Team does the initial engine installation and engineering. The boat then goes through rigorous in the water testing to verify engine calibrations and fine-tune the total “fit” of boat and power.

Installation and Service Training - Indmar trains the builder's design and installation teams to ensure a smooth flow on the manufacturer's production line. Next, the customer's dealer field technicians are trained in the specific service requirements of Indmar fuel injection and computerized, total engine management systems. Additionally, Indmar offers a certification program with annual updates. Advanced classes are also available for the career service technician.

Follow-up Services - Indmar continues to work in partnership with the manufacturer to ensure trouble-free engine operation at the all-important consumer level. To achieve this, Indmar helps the builder establish a well-trained team of service technicians and representatives.

Indmar also provides service bulletins, dealer technical publications, on-site and telephone trouble shooting programs to the OEM customer and their dealer network.

Warranty - Indmar was the first inboard engine manufacturer to establish a factory backed three-year limited warranty that includes both fuel and electrical systems. Indmar helps its customers' dealers with all warranty claims, providing quick response and proper solutions.
